A little bit about ourselves Alyssa grew up as an Air Force brat. While she was born in Canada she also lived in Illinois, Australia, and Colorado. She considers Colorado her home. Alyssa attended Air Academy High School in Colorado Springs and the University of Colorado, Boulder for both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in water resources. Alyssa worked for the Stockholm Environment Institute in Boston, Massachusetts for 1 1/2yrs while Mark completed his master’s degree at Tufts University. Currently Alyssa is working on international water resource issues as an independent consultant tackling such issues as future water security and climate change impacts. Her pastimes include running (more like trying to keep up) with Hailey, hiking, biking, camping, spoiling her nephew Parker, and Thursday night t.v. with her good friend Leah! Mark was born and raised in Minnesota ‘dontcha know’. He attended Eden Prairie High School where he spent most of his time skiing on the might Buck Hill (woo hoo). He attended the University of Colorado, Boulder for his undergraduate degree and Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts for his masters degree, both in Civil Engineering/Water Resources. Mark worked for the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis in Vienna, Austria where he applied hydrologic models to river basins in China. He is currently employed at Camp Dresser and McKee in Denver where he is working on DIA’s disposal issues with the de-icing fluid among other projects. |
